house with office - renovation + extension

This artist’s residence underwent a complete renovation and received a new extension. Throughout the house, one can find intriguing artistic touches, including colored glass features embedded in concrete, sculptural plaster elements, brick walls crafted from salvaged bricks of various colors and shapes, and bas-relief sculptures adorning the walls. Hand-shaped lampshades with organic forms adorn the ceilings.

The interior layout of the house was carefully designed to optimize flow, featuring intriguing corridors that offer surprising and ever-changing views of the outdoor areas. A secluded garden on the southern side of the house creates a delightful micro-climate, enhancing the outdoor experience. The house seamlessly integrates living spaces with professional office areas.

Consistency in material choices, such as the slat stone flooring used throughout, creates a sense of continuity and cohesion. The concrete ceilings of the extension were poured in place on a plank structure, while the addition of warm wood elements imbues the space with coziness.

In the living area, the fireplace, complete with built-in firewood storage, serves as the focal point for family gatherings and socializing.
