Claerhout-Van Biervliet

“Architect duo Xaveer Claerhout and Barbara Van Biervliet surprise with a more than successful total renovation of two adjacent small village houses in Zoute.
*When you see the front facade of elongated white brick, you cannot imagine that a luxurious gem is hidden behind it,” says Barbara. *To create additional spaciousness, the ground floor was excavated and a swimming pool was discretely integrated on the roof of the rear building. We chose sober, warm and simultaneously timeless materials. Notable are the exposed concrete with plank pattern, the raw wood, the natural stone floors and the sleek, minimalist joinery that opens at the corner of the kitchen and living room.
“The lighting from
Flos and Kinetura are real mood creators, especially at dusk,” Xaveer adds. “It is a cozy family paradise, extremely versatile given that the two separate residential units can also be used as one whole via a sliding gate.”
