This artist’s residence underwent a complete renovation and was expanded with a new addition. Throughout the home, intriguing artistic accents appear, such as colored glass set into concrete, sculptural plasterwork, brick walls built with reclaimed bricks in varied colors and shapes, and bas-reliefs adorning the walls. Hand-formed lamps with organic silhouettes embellish the ceilings.
The interior layout is carefully crafted to create an optimal flow, with engaging passages that offer surprising, ever-changing views of the outdoor spaces. A secluded garden on the south side of the house fosters a delightful microclimate and enriches the outdoor experience. The residence seamlessly integrates living areas with professional office spaces.
Consistency in material choices—such as the slate flooring that runs throughout the home—creates a sense of continuity and cohesion. The concrete ceilings of the extension were cast in place on a plank formwork, while warm timber elements give the space a welcoming, intimate character.
In the living area, the fireplace—complete with built-in storage for firewood—serves as the focal point for family gatherings and social occasions.
